Watching the news about the climate conference in Paris doesn’t make one always optimistic. But when we look at our own Energy channel, green and clean energy is our theme of the month, there are a lot of examples that give us energy. In this newsletter, that’s what we focus on by highlighting 3 examples. Watch all the videos in our Energy channel and add your own favorites!

A football as a source of energy
Use the power of play

Soccer / Football is huge everywhere. Uncharted Play came up with the idea to use a soccer ball to generate power. After 30 minutes of football, you’ve got enough energy for 3 hours of LED light. Green and clean, we love it!

Smaller, cheaper, better
Why solar power is spreading fast in Africa

Solar power is spreading fast in Africa. This video focusses on the why. 3 answers. First: technically, solar power has improved. Second: low energy bulbs have become better and cheaper. Third: batteries have improved.

Poetic highways
Roads that charge your car

Daan Roosegaarde is Dutch. And creative. He’s a disruptor that always looks for the new. Where everyone is looking at the innovation of cars where energy is concerned, he takes a different approach. He looks at the innovation of roads. Smart Highway is a project he’s doing. He wants to make landscapes that are future-proof, energy neutral but also poetic.

OK that’s it for this week, friends of innovation. Keep on submitting, keep on voting, keep on innovating. Questions? Remarks? Ideas? hello@tis.tv is the address! From TIS with love, Erwin Blom.
