TIS Weekly (#31): Lego Is Doing It Again; Innovators At Heart
[January 10th, 2016]
The CES, the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas has been pouring new tools and gadgets over us. Here are three new goodies we really like!
Lego Education WeDo
Learn science and programming
Lego is a company we love at TIS. Not only because we played and built with the toys when we were young, but because it is a company that keeps on re-inventing itself and moves with the times. Lego Education WeDo is an example of that. It’s an education package where children learn about science and programming by playful building and researching. Can we go back to school, please? Now?
According to Erwin Blom ‟Lego keeps on innovating! Brilliant tools for schools to learn science and programming. "www.tis.tv
A drone that carries a passenger
There’s a lot going on in the world of drones. They get better, they get cheaper, they can do more. Like bringing your Amazon stuff home. Or inspect terrain after a disaster. CES saw the announcement of the first drone that can carry a person. Now it can be done, will we be allowed? The technology moves on, but the regulations still have to catch up!
According to Willem-Jan Draper ‟A single seat, self-driving quadcopter. It goes up to 11,000 feet, 62 miles per hour…www.tis.tv
A one man tv remote studio
We at TIS we love video of course. And we love it that equipment gets better, smaller and cheaper. And that it is easy do distribute the stories you want to tell. Movi is a new thing we like. Why? The small and cheap Movi (400 dollar) makes it possible to easily set and switch between multiple scenes and multiple shots and stream that signal to the world. Professional looking interviews, press conferences, concerts, fashion shows as a one man band! TIS is definitely going to buy one!
According to Erwin Blom ‟Wow! The feeling of multicamera with only one camera, it's possible and coming near you soon!…www.tis.tv
OK that’s it for this week, friends of innovation. Keep on submitting, keep on voting, keep on innovating. Questions? Remarks? Ideas? email@example.com is the address! From TIS with love, Erwin Blom.
