TIS Weekly (#48): Outer Space Is A Really Nice Place

[May 8th, 2016]

You know your classics, right? OK, just testing! Which song is this line from? ‘Outer Space Is A Really Nice Place’ ? Wrong! It’s from Dan Dare by the brilliant Mekons. I use every occasion to plug this brilliant band that started in the punk days. But … there is a reason. Space is our theme of the month. Do you know examples of innovation in space? Please add them to TIS and let’s build the best collection of video’s on the subject! We give you three examples. And Dan Dare!

Space
The Space X landing

Launching a rocket is impressive, but landing so we can re use them is new. And impressive. Just watch this one minute video. Really cool!

Space
Apollo 11

There was a space before this space! When you’re a little bit older, you remember men going to the moon, now we’re wanting to conquer Mars. But new technologies help us to experience the past better as well. This 360 video of the Apollo 11 landing is an example of that.

Space
Project Sidekick

A nice example how VR-tech can aid astronauts in space in terms of efficiency and knowledge, as teams on earth can directly assist in complicated tasks.

Space
Dan Dare!

You wanna know what the Mekons sound like? Of course you want! Outer Space Is A Really Nice Place, Dan Dare!

OK that’s it for this week, friends of innovation. Keep on submitting, keep on voting, keep on innovating. Questions? Remarks? Ideas? hello@tis.tv is the address! From TIS with love, Erwin Blom.
