Don’t have time to do the things you want (or should) do? Here’s one way to change that.

Realize everything you do (and don’t do) is a choice — and watch how you talk to yourself.

Time exists. You have it. What you choose to do with it is up to you.

“But I have a job and a family! I’m busy!”

I know, I respect that, but if you think about it, there’s nothing stopping you from quitting your job or abandoning your family — I’m not saying you should do that! There’s lots of reasons you probably shouldn’t. But my point is, you’re choosing not to. (Good choice, by the way.)

When you start looking at everything you do as a choice instead of an obligation, your perspective begins to change and you’ll start making different choices — or at least be more honest with yourself about your priorities.

There’s nothing wrong with choosing to sit down, relax, and watch TV for a few hours after a long day at work. But realize: it’s a choice.

Right now, I’m choosing to write this post instead of do something about the pile of laundry that’s been taking over my couch for the past week.

Saying “I don’t have time” (to do X) is not true if you have time to do Y and Z.

How we talk to ourselves, what we convince ourselves of, has a huge impact on how we live and what we experience.

Time exists. Saying “I don’t have time” is never a true statement. Saying “I don’t want to” or “that’s not a priority to me right now” are true statements — and they’re totally ok to make… Sometimes.
