The Need For Saving
You know I always dreamt of being saved by a handsome Prince Charming from my castle (in fantasy, dreaming) but in reality I deeply wanted to be saved from the emotional abuse my parents put me through and the constant depression from that particular circumstances there; and live a better life beyond my own family problems!
But as much as I dreamt and hoped, it wasn’t ever gonna be part of my reality. Which it took me till a few months into my mental health recovery with depression and living with my emotionally abusive parents. Though it took some time to get past, but I got past it and I’m better and stronger for it! So here’s something I thought to include about being a superhero or Prince Charming per say; a quote that’s very inspiring from Supergirl:
People of National City: this is Cat Grant coming to you by Catco Plaza! We’ve just minutes ago restarted our broadcasting capabilities… Look, we’re all suffering through a major disaster. Now you could react to this crisis by being petty and decisive, or praying on people’s fears. And after all, it is human to be selfish but isn’t it also human to face our weaknesses and rise above them, act like a superhero even if you aren’t one.
It’s true: Supergirl has not been located yet but her spirit stays with us. Her insistence of seeing the best in people, a call to head our better angels. Supergirl has faith in us! So let’s have a little faith in her. Supergirl will return when we need her most until then we need to help each other. Call us, share your stories of heroism: let’s show the world what we’re really made of! And no we can’t do what Supergirl does but we must choose to do what we can!
