Your Creative Success Depends on The Amount of F*cks You Can Give
I used to be cautious about what I wrote. But what bothered me even more was what people would think of my writing. That insecurity kept me from doing more, publishing articles I wanted. I’d constantly have an internal battle about whether I should write (or publish) a piece of story online.
Whenever I overcame my fear and hit the publish button, I still couldn’t be at peace. I’d constantly look at how my work is performing — the views, likes, and comments. When the metrics were good, I was happy. But most of the time, the unpopularity of my articles would keep me from producing more work in the future. That’s because I would constantly think about its performance before I even wrote it.
It took me years to understand that your creativity can foster only when you learn to not give a fuck what others think about your work, especially when you are in the initial phases. That’s even true for your general growth and development in life. When you constantly live in fear and doubt, you cannot grow. You remain stuck in your comfort zone and cannot flourish into your highest self.
