ICF Delegations Program: Cycle 2 starts now

Validator applications are now open for the second cycle of our Delegations Program.

Validators across the interchain play a critical role in the growth, culture and security of the network they validate on. Our Delegation Program uses the ICF’s token holdings to recognize, empower, and reward valuable contributions from validators of the interchain.

We look forward to applications from validators on the Cosmos Hub, Osmosis and IRISnet. Applications will close in approximately 4 weeks — at midnight UTC on the 30 September 2023.

If you are a validator, submit your application here:
Cosmos Hub | Osmosis | IRISnet

Should you need support or clarification regarding the delegations process or completion of the application form, feel free to contact us at delegations@interchain.io.

Improving the program

Building on the previous iteration, our Delegations Program now includes delegating our token holdings on Osmosis (OSMO) and IRISnet (IRIS), in addition to the Cosmos Hub (ATOM). We’ve made a number of other significant improvements too, including:

  • A weighted allocation of points that considers the complexity, time and resources spent on the contribution, instead of the previous flat “1 point per contribution”.
  • A cap on points, based on validators’ voting power rank, that limits the number of points (and thereby delegations) that larger validators can receive.
  • Contribution categories are now ecosystem-wide by default, eliminating the previous distinction between ecosystem and chain-specific contributions.
  • Increased the Delegations Cycle to 12 months, based on feedback from validators to give them more stability in planning their operations.
  • A new “Valuable Upcoming Contributions” category that will allow validators to submit contributions that are not yet in production at the time of the Application Period but will be before the next Delegations Cycle begins.
  • And many other changes based on discussions in the past few weeks on the community forums of the Cosmos Hub, Osmosis and IRISnet.

We would like to express our deep gratitude to all the contributors, community members and validators who engaged with us during our public consultation periods — your feedback was instrumental in improving our Delegations Policy and Program.

If you have further feedback on the policy or identify a significant oversight, please get in touch with us by email: delegations@interchain.io
