Interchain Builders Program — Cohort Q2

The Interchain Builders program has continued to thrive since its inception last year, offering invaluable support to teams building on the Interchain Stack. By providing assistance in areas such as technical support, fundraising, legal, and token design, the program has fostered the growth of numerous projects.

Today, Binary Builders is delighted to introduce the 2023 Q2 cohort of the Interchain Builders Program.

This quarter, after evaluating over 45 applications, we have selected 13 outstanding teams at various stages of development, needing different types of support. These teams are making strides in diverse verticals, including DeFi, Infrastructure/Tooling, Data, and other.

Here is an overview of the 13 projects we are eager to collaborate with and support growing:

Infrastructure & Tooling:

Abstract Money:

• Abstract streamlines the CosmWasm developer experience by employing its modular architecture and standardized interfaces. It enables developers to turn ideas into reality swiftly and to collaborate with other developers / teams through smart-contract composition. The platform offers a contract marketplace, allowing open-source developers to monetize their work and to push the boundaries of dApp innovation.

Apollo DAO:

• Apollo DAO is a collective of CosmWasm developers and DeFi natives that focus on building DAO tooling and asset management for the Cosmos ecosystem.

Babylon:

• Babylon is a blockchain platform that leverages the security of Bitcoin as a source of trust and a reliable timestamping service to enhance the security of Cosmos zones and other Proof-of-Stake chains. Babylon offers a range of use cases, including Bitcoin staking, fast stake unbonding, bootstrapping new zones, protecting important transactions, and censorship resistance.

Data:

BlockPI:

• BlockPI Network is a distributed multi-chain acceleration layer, providing high performance and reliable RPC services for Web3 developers and users. BlockPI builds a distributed network structure, where all third party RPC providers can participate and serve global RPC consumers with infinite scalability.

OKP4:

• OKP4 is a governance infrastructure for off-chain digital resources. OKP4 SDK allows anyone to define on-chain rules, share any resource & create a new generation of applications on top of them. Solving trust issues, creating new incentives to share resources, and unlocking the value of data without exposing it. OKP4’s mission is to create synergies in the Cosmos and beyond!

Source Network:

• Source Network extends the ethos of Cosmos to off-chain data management infrastructure. Their database, DefraDB, in tandem with their CosmosSDK app-chain, SourceHub, empower developers to build truly decentralized applications. With native cryptographic primitives to secure data, granular privacy controls, P2P synchronization of data across edge devices, cloud and decentralized infrastructure. By eliminating the weakest link, they ensure that applications achieve the highest level of decentralization possible.

Syntropy:

• Syntropy aims to extract and deliver Web3 data in real time. The team, comprised of experienced blockchain developers and senior network engineers, is focused on developing an advanced protocol for the efficient provision and consumption of blockchain data via on-chain agreements.

DeFi:

Denom:

• The Cooperative Reserve Denom (CRD) is the first open and decentralized stable international currency. The Denom embodies the decentralized spirit of Bitcoin, the day-to-day price stability of national currencies, and the soundness and strength of having a quality redeemable backing like gold provided in the past. It will initially be launched via the Noria Network, a crypto network that uses a stable denomination. Noria will collect fees exclusively with a stable currency, encouraging protocols, asset pairs, and liquidity providers to standardize around the Denom as a universal form of money across the network.

Kima:

• Kima is a decentralized, blockchain-based money transfer protocol. It settles interchain transactions to enable apps to abstract the complexities related to blockchain and DeFi/TradFi fragmentation.

Squid:

• Squid allows any token to be swapped between blockchains, and unlocks access to apps across chains in a single click. Developers can use Squid to build seamless user experiences powered by Axelar and IBC that tap into cross-chain liquidity and scale to reach anyone with a crypto wallet, no matter what chain they’re on.

UnUniFi:

• UnUniFi is an NFT-Fi Platform with DeFi tools (Derivatives and Interchain Yield Aggregator), built via L1 app-specific blockchain in the Cosmos Network. Their Platform provides the tools and features necessary to integrate DeFi functionality into any NFT ecosystem, with cross-chain products developed for both retail and institutional users. UnUniFi provides the infrastructure to be the NFT-Fi Hub for Cosmos and beyond.

Other:

Emerging Eco:

• Emerging Eco is a platform that catalyzes regenerative household transitions through IoT integrated clean cooking devices. They allow clean cooking companies to finance and manage their inventory. Carbon credits and related impacts are verified by real-time causal AI and tokenized to be used for offsets or traded through cross-chain exchanges.

Unigrid:

• Unigrid is developing a cutting-edge, decentralized cloud services network utilizing blockchain technology. This innovative network stands out from the traditional internet in its enhanced fault tolerance, redundancy, and encryption capabilities. Offering a comprehensive suite of services, including data storage, computational resources, and application hosting, Unigrid’s network is seamlessly accessible through any IBC-enabled Cosmos SDK chain.

The Builders Program supports these teams on an ongoing basis as their projects continue development and their needs and requirements change over time. We could not be more excited to work with such a group of quality projects and are looking forward to accelerating the growth in the Interchain. We are planning to onboard another cohort starting Q3 2023. In the next few months, we’re planning to release our Builders Knowledge Hub, containing valuable information on how to get started in the Cosmos Ecosystem as a builder.
