Multi dimension view of stocks | Non-technical view
Introduction
Data about stocks are so much abundant. Each data source covers different angles of a stock. There is a lot of activity happening on the stock market every single day, hour, minute.
Sourcing data
To get all this data, we need to connect individual APIs of all the services. Some data sources might need a key with an account. Some require you to create an app and perform an OAuth connection. Sourcing data is an article of its own.
But I have gone through all the pain of collecting all the information from different places.
Analysis in Detail
Positive stocks
Now, we have a lot of data for our analysis. As a first step, let us find the common stocks across different places. You might think, what is positive? Positive comments, sentiments, insider buys, etc.
Negative stocks
Negative stocks are the stocks that contain a lot of negativity around a stock. It includes sentiments, insider sells, short stocks, dark pool stocks, etc.
Sentiment
If we plot just the StockTwits sentiment, we will get a chart like the below one. We can see AMD is one of the stocks which are on the watchlist of StockTwits.
Active stocks
Active stocks always have some activity going on. Yahoo finance provides a detailed view of active stocks on large and small caps. We will combine the active large caps and small caps for yahoo finance and create a combined chart.
Ark Funds
I am a big fan of ark funds. Why not plot them as well? Let's plot them on a daily trades basis.
Upcoming earnings
We often miss out on significant earnings. I wish I know that Tesla or that stock will announce the results is one of the standard dialogs we hear.
Short stocks
There are different ways to define the short on stock. Why not collect all the information?
Insider Trading
Insider trading provides valuable information on different fronts. They know more about the company than anyone outside!
