There’s always The Issue. The one people are talking about. The one you read think pieces about. The Issue changes day by day, person to person, but they all share some central concerns:

  • Inequality and injustice
  • History, memory, and change
  • Struggles with how to live rightly in today’s world

The word “issue” originates from the Latin exire, which means “go out, go forth; become public; flow, gush, pour forth.”

We want the thoughts and analysis that pour forth, on the topics that the public is wrestling with today. Bring your insight and critical skills to the debate, and tell us something we need to know that we haven’t thought of before.

To submit:

  • Create a Medium profile and enter your username and profile link on this document so I can add you as a writer.
  • Have a 1500-word ish Medium draft ready.
  • Properly caption and cite all images, including Alt Text image descriptions.
  • Have at least 4 tags for your article.
  • Submit your article by clicking the “…” next to the Publish button, then “Add to Publication.” Choose The Issue from the list, then confirm your submission.
