Conservative Man Pre-Dates Liberal Man

By Five Thousand Generations.

Once we came out of the trees we had to be conservative to survive. The main Conservative value -concern for the morrow- assured there would be one. Some would be ready, others would be dead. This concern for some time other than the present may have arisen from….looking at your child or your mate. Or, a threatening cloud or the slight breeze that announces the hurricane, or a fire going out. However the radical tenets came into being doesn’t matter so much. Somehow they did. And Man lasted long enough to start making cities.

The cities -civilization- made Liberal Man.

What’s kind of funny is that the two men -Conservative Man and Liberal Man- are not natural enemies. You don’t have to be one or the other. And, indeed, most of us are -by observation- a blend of the two.

That doesn’t make you an independent.

It just makes Joe & Jill American what we are today: Confused.
