He had seen it but “I may not get there with you…but I’ve seen the promised land.”

What, exactly, did Reverend King see when he saw the promised land? Was he looking at something? Some piece of real estate? Like Canaan? Or Harlem?

Did he tell us what he saw?

He did indeed.

He said he longed for a place where his children would be judged by the content of their character, not the color of their skin.

In other words, the promised land is a place without Black people; just people. Some of whom happen to be black.

So. How’s it coming along, this journey to the Promised Land?
