I like mornings
when the sun promises
to shine all day.

I like mornings
when there’s good cereal
in the cupboard.

I like mornings
when there’s plenty of butter
on my wheat toast.

I like mornings
when I can pour you
a fresh cup of coffee.

I like mornings
when after all this
I crawl back in bed
with you.
