Wedlocked
by Savannah Hernandez
It was sweet as lead– from the touch of his fingers slipping on the golden band to the saliva of the kiss. Cheerful applauds sound in dense celebration. Rice falls over her head like acid rain as she races down the aisle hand in hand with her husband. Photographers quickly capture memories that will be left to collect dust in busted shoeboxes. They held no reception, and she refuses to toss her bouquet of Monkshood and Petunias.
