Andrew Yang Already Trailing in Primary Polls for Party He Founded
New York, NY — Former Democratic candidate for President, Andrew Yang, has joined with disaffected Republicans to form their own political party in which Yang is already trailing in the polls for a potential Presidential nominee.
“I really think I can turn these poll numbers around by 2024,” said Yang. “I’m looking forward to the thrill of losing in the general election.”
A former businessman, Yang ran for the Democratic nominee for President in 2020 but fell short. He later set his sights lower, running for mayor of New York City, but failed to win the nomination in that race either.
Faced with the options of running for, and losing, the Democratic nomination of his co-op board or starting his own party, Yang chose the latter.
Voters’ most common response to the poll with regards to Yang was, “Oh yeah, I guess that name sounds familiar.”
