Chuck Schumer Calls for “Bold Waiting” On Climate Change Legislation
Washington D.C. — As North America and Europe are in the grips of nearly unprecedented heat waves, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer stressed that now is the time to rise up and continue waiting to pass any meaningful legislation addressing climate change.
“My friends, now is the time for bold waiting. We have the Presidency as well as majorities in the House and Senate. Now is the time to take a deep breath, inhale all that wildfire smoke, and be patient,” said Schumer at a rally for climate action.
The crowd of activists cheered at the prospect of sweeping renewable energy reform becoming a reality after it’s too late. The funk rising from their sweaty bodies in Washington D.C.’s triple-digit-degree-weather was so thick that few in attendance could actually see Schumer.
Schumer’s speech concluded when he passed out from heat stroke and was rushed to the hospital where he’s expected to make a full recovery.
