That first time.

Dear Interweb,

No time throughout my journey of life have I considered myself a storyteller. I’m a consumer of stories, sure, all sorts of stories. My daily ritual consists of reading and vacuuming as much content as humanly possible. Stories of happiness, sadness, people, culture, business and life. I find that majority of the time those stories seem close to experiences I’ve had in my journey. Without sounding all philosophical, I'm a huge subscriber to the theory that life is a journey, hence the title of this publication “The Journey of Business + Life”.

Here we go!

The thought of contributing any story publicly seemed daunting. I’m sharing stories verbally with people everyday which end up in the public domain in some shape or form, so why delay putting fingers to the keyboard and posting stories that kinda live forever. It’s taken too long to get my head around the “why”. Constantly nagging was this FEAR of being critiqued. The FEAR of negativity or comments towards my story’s. FEAR. It's a bitch what FEAR can do to you. The worry and FEAR is no more. I don't give a fuck from this point forward. The FEAR is over. Once I hit enter, that heart pounding palpitations I once had will be banished forever.

I could have chosen any platform to create and share my stories. Yeah I could throw up a WP or similar site, I’m engaging on twitter, snapchat (wtf) but I’ve decided to write my stories here on Medium. Why Medium? Evan and the team have created something very cool with the platform and I believe it’s going to be the place for me to engage in some interesting conversations that will arise from the stories during my journeys.

Thank you your time, time is extremely precious and thank you for following me on Medium.

Talal.
