The anti-Israel mob has recruited a diverse set of supporters. Why can’t the Jews?

Hatred of Jews is a prominent feature of western civilization.

It’s been going on for thousands of years, however the following are just some of the examples of what antisemites have either denied, participated in, or outwardly celebrated in the last century alone:

• The ethnic cleansing of Jews from all Muslim countries.
• A genocide of 6 million Jews of Europe and 11 million Europeans total.
• The butchering, rape, and murder of over 1200 people just outside the Gaza border.

What made my generation of Jews unique is that we thought we were past the days of assuming antisemitism everywhere we went. We thought that we (or maybe our parents first) had integrated seamlessly and succeeded in a system that rewarded our achievements. The last 4 months have proven otherwise.

It pains me to make this admission, but it’s possible that antisemitism is just as prominent in western society today as it was 100 years ago. It’s just evolved into a different form of modern expression — namely, by associating Jews and Israel…
