Who is Responsible for the Suffering of Gazans?

What does Palestinian human rights activist BASSEM EID say?

If Palestinian human rights activist Bassem Eid can speak the truth about Israel, why can’t the Jew haters who are accusing Israel of atrocities committed by Hamas, claiming that Israel has no right to exist, and excusing Iran for shooting 300 anti-ballistic missiles and kamikaze drones into the heart of the country?

Here’s what Eid wrote after the deadly stampede on aid trucks in Gaza early last month: “The chaos and desperation that led to this tragedy are direct outcomes of Hamas’s governance, which prioritizes violence and killing Jews over the welfare of its population.”

It’s unbelievably sad that if I wrote those words, the pro-terror trolls (perhaps only here on Medium, since what other platform would permit the venom and prejudice allowed here?) would call me names, accuse me of lying, and suggest that IDF soldiers are as abusive as Hamas operatives. Not at all true — IDF soldiers are punished for even joking about abusing a terrorist prisoner, even if that terrorist murdered an entire family (because that’s what terrorists do).

The Jew-haters either fawn over Hamas’s “freedom fighters” or suggest that “the October 7th massacre was no big deal and only one baby died anyway (not true, and again, there are pictures and videos from Go-Pro cameras worn by Hamas operatives).” And they tell me to stop complaining about that massacre. Really. Because those aren’t real people to the haters. Not even the 30 Americans, the Philipinos, or the Druze. Also, it was sooo last year, except for hostages and their families who don’t know if their loved ones are dead or alive.

Except for all of us Jews who remember the many times through history when we were disparaged, dehumanized, blamed for the world’s ills, murdered and expelled from the land of Israel and nearly every other land where Jews managed to start over. October 7th was the latest in a long line of hate-filled pogroms.

There is no moral equivalence — kidnapping babies and children, women and elderly cannot be excused no matter how much anyone dislikes Israel’s retaliation. If Hamas, Hizballah, and Houthi rockets and missiles hadn’t been thwarted, the number of dead Jews would be enormous. Do the haters know who is resposible for the massive and shameful suffering in Gaza. Hint: IT’S NOT JUST ISRAEL. *answer below

Why aren’t the pro-terrorists screaming for the return of the 129 hostages to bring about a ceasefire? They stage violent protests, scream for a ceasefire only from Israel, block roads, threaten people, and chant “Death to America,” or ‘Death to Israel.”

Do the American protesters want us to toss our democracy to become more like Afghanistan? How about the Brits? Why don’t the protesters just move to a country that shares their values? Or do they want to stay here in the land of the free, or there in the land of royalty, but have it be ruled by terrorists?

Maybe it’s just that they want the entire Middle East to be ruled by Islamic terrorists as long as it doesn’t impinge on their own freedoms. It’s hard to know because so many of the anti-Israel crowd have a distorted sense of history and don’t really know much about this complex geopolitical conflict.

*Bassem Eid writes: “As a Palestinian human rights activist deeply sympathetic to the plight of the Palestinian people and the complexities of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, I can tell you beyond the shadow of a doubt that the terrorist group Hamas is responsible for the suffering of Gazans.”

Hear that, pro-terror Jew haters? Eid wants peace and dignity for his people. He doesn’t want kids around the world yelling about death to Israel and blocking traffic. You know who is encouraging the disruptions and protests? Hint: a country that is 75X larger than the small Jewish country it attacked this month, and it is very close to having nuclear capability.

The pro-terror folks keep claiming that they’re upset about the suffering and death in Gaza, but since they’ve never said a word about any other suffering in the world, and since they do NOTHING to help those poor Gazans, I don’t buy it. They like to scream slogans and call those of us who support Israel mean names, but are they helping to solve anything or just fomenting more hate?

Hint: they are not helping anyone solve anything.
