A Limp Piece of Rope

A Poem

Photo by Elizabeth Morgan on Unsplash

I wanted to pull so tight
to see what was on the other end,
but the harder I pulled,
the quicker it came
There was no resistance
and in one swift pull
the rope was mine
For years I wondered
what I would find
at the other end of this rope,
the perception of my future,
but in the end, all it was
was a limp piece of rope
