— a poem of potpourris.
An Equal Wavelength
Although we may come from different grounds, I know you all too well.

I was once all the unspoken feelings
of the lovers that‘d never be.
I was the warm familiarities they’d have of one another
but never of their spouses.
I was once the throbbing heartbeat
of a first kiss.
I was the force that drives the peck,
even all the hope that lingers for another.
I was once, none other than
the very scythe of the Reaper;
whose arrival was short and never pleasant,
but I never did cut more
than words ever do.
I was everything you could think of
and every thought you couldn’t project
But amongst all,
I was once you.
