Splash! Trent jolted from his nap as his body thrusts forward. Shock and awe race through his mind. Eyes as wide as hub caps as he realizes the gravity of the situation.

Faster and faster his car fell towards the ocean bottom. Hard to breath as water envelops his lungs. Fish seem blurry eyed as Trent peers at them through the window. Seatbelt stuck as he wrestles with it.

Trent was more tired than usual given his sleep deprivation fighting with his girlfriend a few hours earlier. He could not believe the betrayal he felt in his heart. How could she have done this to me?

This was supposed to be their special weekend that turned into a nightmare. They were supposed to reconnect after some time apart. Trent had planned a romantic couple of days which included a trip into the city to catch a Broadway show along with a fancy dinner at that new French restaurant.

Tickets were purchased and reservations were made but all for naught. Tears streamed down his face as reminisced back to the one thing he never thought could ever happen to him and Penelope.

Trent found the note he wasn’t supposed to see and couldn’t get the words out of his mind. They were jabbing at his brain as he examined and analyzed his feelings. He was at a crossroads as to how he felt about his girlfriend/potential wife now.

The plans he had made in his mind were slowly slipping through his fingers. The more he thought about what happened the more he started to feel dead inside. She was supposed to be the one. How could he forgive her after what she has done?

He snapped out of his daze to realize what was happening. Panic and terror set in as he knew he was in trouble. Frantically he pushed the seat belt release but to no avail. It would not budge.

The car slowly making its way towards the ocean floor. Trent gave up pushing the seatbelt button because it wasn’t cooperating. Just as shortness of breath started to cut off his air supply he remembered he had a seat belt cutter in his glove compartment.

Reaching for the cutter he was able to break free from the seatbelt. Swinging his legs around to face the driver side window he smashed his feet on the window. Pummeling the glass blow after blow but with no success. Time was running out and he knew it. Break free or life is over.

Air was becoming scarce and will soon be depleted. Frantically searching the car for something, anything to break the window.

Trent pulled out the ring from his pocket never thinking this was how is was to end. Shutting his eyes many thoughts race through his brain. Suffocation, betrayal, imprisonment. The warning signs were always present, but Trent didn’t want to believe.

He decided that he’s had enough and will do whatever it takes to get out of his current situation no matter what.
