I hand my wife my phone with a Medium post on it.

ME: So Ann Litts and I have been corresponding on Medium. Here’s what she said:

DEB: AW! (puts her hand on her heart) That is so sweet! But it’s not just love, you know. It’s friendship as well. You and I love each other, sure, but we also have a deep friendship. We like each other, we trust each other, and we make each other happy.

ME: Interestingly enough, Ann made the same point in her post:

ME: Although — and I know I mention this a lot — I also think partnership is important in a relationship. And we’ve been partners since before we were married. In all the important ways, and probably a few that aren’t.

DEB: But it works for us! Until I abandon you and run off to another state!

Deb and some of the women in her family (ages 5 to 66) are running off to the shore to hang for three to four days at an apartment they rented. Last year the theme was “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”; this year it’s “Glow Glow Glow” because Deb is bringing along glow-in-the-dark necklaces and bracelets for when they go cruising the boardwalk at night.

ME: Have fun, Debster! Don’t get sunburned!

DEB: It’s going to be barely in the 70s and windy. I’m taking layers for my layers. Sunburn will NOT be a problem!
