We now bask in the warm glow of another decade,
Having lived through memories that may never fade,
Some we cherish and hold very dear,
Some we hope perish and regard in morbid fear.

Many battles have we fought throughout these years,
Scarred and broken, some have left us in tears,
We fought against boredom to find our true calling,
We fought in the shivering cold watching the snow falling.

We fought with loaded firearms and sharpened knives,
We fought with blunt words that claimed many lives.
We fought for honor, pride and jealousy,
We fought often blind, unable to see our fallacy.

We fought in fields, rings and arenas to relentlessly compete,
We fought to become kings and champions who knew not of defeat.
We fought to break the shackles and chains that tied us down,
We fought for what’s rightfully ours; to reclaim our crown.

We fought for those who could not do so on their own,
We fought to decide who would sit on the world’s biggest throne,
We fought for what’s right, and what we believed in,
We fought the world’s monstrous evils to relieve it of sin.

We fought for our very lives to end all sorrow,
We fought for love, hope and a better tomorrow.
