The sea is filled with endless bodies
Bound together by one goal:
To breach the waves and keep momentum
Up until the sun.

‎‎‎‎ ‎‎

For a chance
One must first swim
then drown

‎‎‎ ‎‎ ‎‎ ‎‎ ‎‎ ‎

//be born again//

‎‎ ‎‎‎‎ ‎‎ ‎‎ ‎‎‎‎ ‎‎

Swim
then fly and reach the sun
To coil around and then to claim it
Just to burn and be forgotten.

‎‎ ‎‎ ‎‎ ‎‎ ‎‎ ‎‎ ‎‎‎ ‎‎ ‎‎ ‎‎

Yet through the aeons
Some have figured
That a better way to burn
Is to stare at the reflection of a rippled and wet sun.

‎‎‎‎‎ ‎‎‎ ‎‎‎ ‎‎‎ ‎‎‎ ‎‎‎ ‎‎‎ ‎‎‎ ‎‎‎

And so they’ve stopped breaching the sea
and learned how not to drown.

‎‎ ‎‎ ‎‎ ‎‎ ‎‎ ‎‎‎‎

Now, they sit beneath the waves,
curled up around an image
that will burn them ever slightly;
but will never do them whole.
