If Shadows Clung to Skin

If shadows clung to skin
In layered silhouettes
To tell your story,

Would you choose to sketch
These lines, and leave these scenes
To bleed upon your canvas?

Would you wear scenes
Of love or loss,
Of regret or hard-won purpose?
