If, She

If her body was a voice it would sing
Sliding slick words
Into vocal chords,
Clarion call.

A cry cracking glass

Relevé
Relevé
Relevé

If her body was a maypole it would unspool
Clinging wet tendrils
Escaped from metal pins
Ribbon wind.

A light blur whirl

Pirouette
Pirouette
Pirouette

If her body was a birch it would arabesque
Sheathing satin silhouette
Exposed in night
Dark glow.

A grounded stake.
