There are certain thoughts that come in waves
It would dissipate into foam and bubbles
Then a calmness appears
just for a short while
because then
the looming shadow of the next wave
gradually makes itself known
in the peripherals of tired eyes

They will keep coming,
the moon whispers
They won’t stop,
the sun chants

However,
with each stroke
with each wade
with each step forward
slices through the waves
like a Guillotine cutting through paper

Just remember,
the waves may never halt
but it can always be broken through
