Meaningful

Sometimes, it’s okay not to talk
Sometimes, it’s necessary not to talk
Love isn’t everyday talk or action
Love’s an understanding
A comforting understanding
That It’s okay if I don’t talk
it’s okay if I don’t show,
For a while, and for that
not being okay is also okay

That silence is better
Much better than mundane talk
And that oh so common…
that fake little `fine`
And those empty words
Didn’t matter before,
And won’t matter now

those empty words, they…
They chip away at my soul
That for me, one meaningful conversation
Is much better than ten not so one

It’s a delicate balance,
One that’s been tipped,
Tipped far too long
On this side… side of that mundaneness
The other side’s not better
I get it, I do and so do you
It’s the balance… it’s all in the balance

It’s weird, weird that still
Wanted to call someone
Someone out there…
to get this, to get me
But I won’t, not now
Not when I realise,
what’s important now
Is just one meaningful dialogue
between me and myself
To get myself and me
