Over the faint tinkle of piano tones
I mourned the loss of my innocence
Over the gentle breath of curtains
In the silent summer breeze
I laughed the loss of my naivete

Over whispering trees
That familiar applause of leaves
I sighed a thousand regrets
Over murmuring streams
In the bright baking summer
I umphed my crosses

Over setting rays
Travelling the concrete expanse
Over penetrating lights
Gilding the dying dusk
I recited my verses
Over fading night
I made my prayers
