Paralysis

It seems foreign until it’s not
The hurt doesn’t even have to be physical
All that has to change is the position of her eyes
Once locked with yours
As if it was possible to create a new colour with two browns
Now torn away
Words are exchanged over text
Some are harsh
Perhaps not all are meant
But the stab is felt nonetheless
And everything else in the universe becomes inconsequential
The heart beats at an irregular rhythm
It was not ready
And it will go to great lengths to express this
Everything else will be shut down
The rainbow replaced by a monochrome
