Is it worth the wait? It’s hard to say.
But for philosophers, it’s clear as day:
despite a life’s incessant suffering,
the vicissitudes which grief might bring,
and cold perplexities which cause dismay,

the answer’s unequivocal. The way
the magnitude results in disarray,
and how fear is all-encompassing…
it’s well-worth the wait…

(as some might think). However, even they
cannot hide the hurt as choirs sing,
to mark how darkness comes to everything.
An enduring question jumps into the fray:
Is it worth the wait?

This sonnet changes the structure of the Rondeau (which is supposed to be fifteen lines), by subtracting one line, and thereby making it a sonnet.
