The Empty Road

The most welcomed solitude.

I pace the wheels as fast as my heartbeat
a lone race, just gliding through the street.
I salute the ground by gently kissing
the empty road with warm greetings.

Through bends and turns and all its winds
across and over the fiery bridge
For once, I don’t miss the absence of stars
for us, it’s beyond ecstasy.

The night could be on fire
the world can end the day after
I don’t mind at all, for I’m fooled
by how the road unwinds my troubles.

For every song that plays;
Home,
I’m only getting further away.
