Time to Heal

Find a place of silence,
of darkness and peace,
lie down and lie still,
the world will not notice
and emotion can wither away
easing the heart.
No wounds of hope,
no scars of disappointment,
no bleeding of expectation,
or fevered infection of care.
Find a place such a long way
from life
from heartache
and strife.
There in the black womb,
perhaps…
I can find time to heal.

A Maguire

Writer of fiction and free verse. Pretty damned awful at both but it keeps me off the streets.
