When the demons stop screamin’ it’ll all be alright
Even though right now it looks like endless night
And I know there’s been talk about killin’ again
And you can’t fix the hole where the rain comes in

And I saw what they did to poor Blind Boy Slim
How they cut his starving throat and tore limb from limb
And the trial was a farce and the ruling unfair
And they left his body lying out on the thoroughfare

Now it seems like a year since you had any rest
And it doesn’t look like you’re gonna pass the test
And the scale is tilled and the game is rigged
And you payed for a cow but you got pigged

And you look and think my God we’re on the brink
And you’re thirsty but can’t find no water to drink
And the bastards got you down in a deep pit of despair
And you’re wide awake but it feels like you’re in a nightmare

But don’t worry yourself none don’t pay it no never mind
Even though seems like everyone around you is blind
It aint they can’t see it’s just they’ve all gone deaf
And they can’t hear no music regardless of the clef

But once it all calms down the tune’ll play true
And then they’ll all remember what they once knew
I know that right now all things look a fright
But once the demons stop screamin’ it’ll all be alright
