Exaggerate you may to make a point
Yet hyperbole may get you nowhere
At that paradox I suggest you stare
and when you get it I shall anoint
you released from the conformity joint
Hope works much better than attempts to scare
We’ll make sense out of nonsense

Moderation is a powerful voice
Strength of vulnerability beware
Willing to be wounded forms delicious pair
My soul my body my morals my choice
From this all sense we’ll separate the nonsense

For the poetry snobs, note most of the lines of my ABBAABc ABBAc rondeau I don’t discuss below. If you will, eat out your interpretative hearts and honor us all with responses both to the lines I discuss and haven’t.

I wrote the first two lines of this philosophical poem two or more days ago after I read Roz Warren, Writing Coach’s excellent post,
