Earlier this summer, Jim James, eclectic frontman and founder of the indie-rock band My Morning Jacket teamed up with Kermit the Frog for an unforgettable performance at the Newport Folk Festival: a duet of “Rainbow Connection”, a song made famous by the iconic Sesame Street character in the 1979 film The Muppet Movie.

This won’t be the last time James and Kermit’s unexpected paths coverage. Later this year, both music talents will find themselves at the Kennedy Center. On September 4, James and conductor Teddy Abrams perform their orchestral song cycle The Order of Nature with the National Symphony Orchestra and Kermit is honored with the rest of Sesame Street at the 42nd annual Kennedy Center Honors.

Tickets are still available for NSO Pops: Jim James. Kennedy Center Honors airs Sunday, December 15 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
