Kennedy Center hosts Summer Conferences on Accessibility in the Arts

The Kennedy Center is pleased to announce two summer conferences focused on the arts, accessibility, and inclusion. The VSA Intersections: Arts and Special Education Conference and Leadership Exchange in Arts and Disability (LEAD®) Conference, will take place in Austin, TX this August, presented by the Kennedy Center Office of VSA and Accessibility.

About the VSA Intersections Conference

The VSA Intersections Conference provides professionals in the intersecting fields of arts education and special education the opportunity to share current information in research, practice, programs, and policy, and serve as a leading catalyst for change. VSA Intersections underscores our commitment to equitable access to arts-based and arts-integrated instruction for students with disabilities, and sustains a national community of practice at work in the arts and education fields.

The fifth annual VSA Intersections conference will bring together general and special educators, arts specialists, teaching artists, administrators, policy makers, researchers, and more for two days of rigorous professional development. At VSA Intersections, participants will build new skills, transfer knowledge, network, and, ultimately, help to shape the best practices-improving educational experiences for students with disabilities learning in and through the arts. The professional development provided at VSA Intersections will provide essential tools ready to be implemented in classrooms immediately. Join us for engaging, hands-on sessions and rich conversations with colleagues invested in ensuring all students receive a high-quality arts education!
