When Dave Chappelle accepts the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor on October 27, 2019, an extensive lineup of artists and entertainers will gather to offer a one-of-a-kind salute.

The Mark Twain Prize for American Humor recognizes individuals who have had an impact on American society in ways similar to the distinguished 19th-century novelist and essayist Samuel Clemens, best known as Mark Twain. As a social commentator, satirist, and creator of characters, Clemens — like Chappelle — was a fearless observer of society.

So, who can you expect to see in the Concert Hall?

Neal Brennan

With Chappelle, Neal Brennan co-created and co-wrote the legendary Comedy Central series Chappelle’s Show with Dave Chappelle.

Bradley Cooper

Chappelle shares the screen with Cooper in the 2018 Academy Award-winning film, A Star Is Born.

John Legend

John Legend took the stage with Kanye West in the 2004 concert film, Dave Chappelle’s Block Party.

Jon Stewart

From sharing the screen in various films to countless interviews on The Daily Show, Jon Stewart and Chappelle have a long history in comedy.

Lorne Michaels

Chappelle won his first Emmy for a 2017 hosting appearance on Saturday Night Live, the sketch comedy show famously produced by Michaels.

Don’t miss additional appearances by Tiffany Haddish, Chrissy Teigen, Q-Tip, and more! The program will be broadcast on PBS stations on January 7, 2020.
