Jim James is no stranger to unconventional performances. The eclectic frontman has performed a duet with Kermit the Frog at the Newport Folk Fest. He’s echoed a classic John Prine song next to the legendary singer-songwriter himself. And he’s performed stripped-down versions of powerful songs at NPR’s Tiny Desk.

What’s next for James is also unique — and monumental. On September 4, he teams up with conductor Teddy Abrams for a special performance of their orchestral song cycle The Order of Nature with the National Symphony Orchestra. Tickets are still available.
