Amour — Best Foreign Language film at the Oscars, 2013
This is a short review of a lovely film.
The beauty of this incredible film is the pace, the tenderness and grace that goes with it and that one scene that takes the breath out of us! So, make sure you are with the movie all the way from the beginning till the end. Yes, get your popcorn and drinks before you begin the film. The untoward part of this film are the two protagonists who are two senior citizens and it is basically their story. The movie also speaks volumes about the lives of senior citizens and their loneliness.
The man and the pigeon scenes are intriguing, leaving us wondering what is going to be the fate of the pigeon but the tenderness of it leaves us surprised.
No wonder it took the Oscar for the best International Film at the 85'th Oscars in 2013. Highly recommended.
