“Anweshippin Kandethum” — Tovino’s latest is a decent time-pass.
Not the typical “CBI-Diary Kurippu” stuff with a loud theme being played in the background or other startling noises typical of such crime-thrillers but this film has a gentle pace and unlike a single case, in this movie you get to see two murder mysteries being solved.
A thinner and slimmer Tovino Thomas plays the role of Sub-Inspector of Police, Anand, cracking both the cases. Of particular note is the second story and how well the screenplay hides the criminal from the audience. That was very well done. The talented Shammi Thilakan, son of late veteran actor, Thilakan is there. I only wish he had more promising roles in films, which he is highly capable of.
And though Santosh Narayanan has been wonderful with Thamizh films his music lacks Lustre in this film. In fact, it was distracting and out-of-place in several scenes. The rock song “Viduthal” with Dhee’s vocals was nice though.
Watch it if you have nothing else worth your while to watch.
