‘Jexi’, funny movie for adults
Where Alexa and Google nest may take us someday
Watching the latest Google Nest ads on Indian network channels I am wondering where virtual assistants will take us someday.
With growing dependence on our smartphones and now virtual assisting devices such as Alexa and Google Nest one wonders where this dependency is going to lead us. Indicating the dangers of such a dependency is the main theme of Jexi and it is just hilarious where these devices can one day, probably take us, rule us or completely mess with our lives.
Adam DeVine plays Phil an introvert and a not-so-promising worker at his workplace when his life turns around after he acquires a new smartphone that seems unreasonably so smart that it develops an affection for him. What happens next is just a hilarious set of events when the phone starts to play with his life. Other cast and crew support brilliantly particularly Michael Pena, Phil’s boss at the office and colleagues at work played by Charlyne Yi and Ron Funches.
By the way, be warned, the film is for adults. Go for it, for the fun.
