Sapta Saagaradaache Ello — Side A

Just cannot wait for Side B (the sequel).

The last Kannada film I had seen was the terrible “U Turn” and prior to that from the same maker the wonderful “Luciya” and that was many years ago. Whenever I tried watching any of the new ones, the unreal stuff and violence are such a turn off that I cannot go beyond a few minutes of watching. But what a brilliant film is this one that “The Hindu” had posted an article about a few days ago. It’s on Amazon Prime and it is a work of art. Towards the end the makers could have perfected it even more but I guess nothing is perfect.

The movie is a beautiful love story and the way it has been captured in a very realistic mode is worth mentioning. Both Rikshit Shetty and Rukmini Vasanth take get full marks for the superb and realistic acting. Music is a huge plus. and several songs that I thought were sung by Sid Sriram turned out be others (one the music director himself, Charan Raj). Charan Raj’s piano notes in the movie is beautiful. The title song is a winner and check out Punya Srinivas’s beautiful veena solo in the song linked here.

Towards the end you are even given a preview of what is coming in the next installment going to be released on October 27'th. Honestly I cannot wait to watch that. May even consider watching it in a theatre if it is not on OTT. Meanwhile take time to watch this movie. Beautiful pictures don’t come like this often.

(P.S. — One other Kannada film I had watched a couple of years ago was “Ondu Motteya kathe”. The Malayalam film “Thamasha” was remade from this film.)
