The Teacher, starts well but doesn’t end well

Amala Paul does her bit but the movie disappoints.

Another rape-revenge story done poorly, particularly showing student teacher relationships in a very bad light. One wonders whether it is movies that are fostering such bad behavior and not the other way around.

While the movie starts well with lovely visuals, music and even screenplay the ending is contrived and wishful thinking particularly when it comes to the retribution of the protagonist. By the way, she even uses a nunchaku in her fight. Foul language used by the students against their teacher is also very difficult to digest and the movie needn’t have gone that far.

Amala Paul does well, particularly in one long crying screenshot but that and her role doesn’t make this a come-back film for her.
