A Retrospective: KitMapper at a Glance

As we look back at 2017, we are in awe at all of the projects that have been captured and presented with kit from all over the UK.

The year has flown by yet again, and we wanted to reminisce in appreciation of all those who have contributed to making the KitMapper platform come to life.

KitMapper kit has been featured in exhibitions, art studios, music videos, recording studios, films, documentaries, parties, events, DJ nights, photo shoots, and many more.

When we contacted some of our friendly KitMapper users, they didn’t hesitate to send through some imagery or video that showcased the kit at work. We’re thankful for their contributions to make our website a community that thrives, growing leaps and bounds from where it first started.

Alina from Pushkin House hired a Epson EB-XO3 — Projector for the pictured installation, ‘101st km — Further Everywhere’ by Russian artist and architect Alexander Brodsky.

Benjamin Youd Photography was hired for a band photoshoot, and used a Canon EF 8–15mm f/4L Fisheye USM from KitMapper.

Boiler Room, hired a Barco Video Wall Bundle for an A/V installation at ‘The Final Night in Paradise’ with DJ Harvey, video by Amar Ediriwira.

Claire hired a 15" JVC Broadcast Monitor and a pair of Genelec Active Studio Monitors for her installation ‘The arebyte Variations’ at arebyte Gallery.

Ellie rented a Canon 5D MkIII + 24–105L and Manfrotto Tripod for a web series proof of concept called ‘Homebrew’.

Eugenio hired out a whole set-up to produce his short film, including a Canon 5D Mark iii Kit, ZOOM H4N+SD Card, Manfrotto Fluid Monopod, and a RODE NTG3.

Garry, from Deep Cut Productions, created this video featuring Nadège Rochat and THE BBC Concert Orchestra. He rented a Black Magic Pocket Cinema Camera, Samyang T3.1 / 10mm Prime Cine Lens, and a Metabones Speed Booster

Arts SU Creative and Made in Arts London hired a Sumvision Cyclone Micro 2+HD Media Player, Sony KDL40R483 40" TV, TV Floor Stand, and a Bush HD DLED 32" Smart TV for two exhibitions, Affordable Art Fair Hampstead and Xhibit.

Idoia hired a BenQ W1070+ Short Throw Projector, an Epson EB-XO3, an Optoma GT750, and a Sumvision Cyclone Micro 2+ for her BYOB A/V installation at Art Licks Weekend.

Katharine filmed ‘Dearborn, Michigan’, a Guardian Documentary, with a Full Blackmagic Cinema Camera Kit + Lenses.

Kim used 3 Sharp LC-40CFF5221K Widescreen TVs for an installation of her film ‘Sugar in my Bowl’ at Structured Magic in Hoxton Basement. Photo by Manos Chatzikonstantis.

Puck Verkade’s installation at SUNDAY Art Fair included 3 Panasonic LED TV VIERA TX-40C300B LED Tvs and a Sumvision Cyclone Micro 2+ HD media player.

Ralph rented some lighting kit Kino flo 4ft Double and 150w dedolights 3 head kit with softbox and stands for a music video for the The Pains of Being Pure at Heart.

Sam rented a Sony NEX FS 100 Shooting Kit and a Barco 28250 28" Monitor for his installation at Baltic39 during a residency.

For Simons installation he hired out a Optoma Short Throw Projector and a Sumvision Cyclone Micro 2+ HD media player.

Donna hired this Barco Video Wall Bundle for an exhibition in Dundee at the NEoN Digital Arts Festival.

At Deptford X Festival, various projectors were used for Tom Ireland’s installation ‘And You’ve Felt The Horizon, Haven’t You?’.

Funeral Shakes filmed their music video ‘Lighting’ in our studio, featuring both a Barco Video Wall Bundle and Barco 28250 28" Monitors.

Artquest and KitMapper co-hosted a birthday party. We celebrated our 1st Anniversary while Artquest celebrated their 15th Anniversary. What a night to remember. We sponsored all of the kit for the evening.

This is just but a glimpse of the many hires that are connecting the arts throughout the UK on KitMapper.

As the year comes to a close we look forward with hopeful expectation, a few surprises, and new ways for you to get all the kit you need for any event or production. Together we know that 2018 will be another year making dream production, at any scale, a reality.
