3 Reasons Why the Nets Are New York’s REAL Basketball Team

The Knicks are total losers, and the Nets represent the city’s best hoops squad

Let’s face it, the “New York” Knicks are an utter disgrace, missing the playoffs in four consecutive seasons and only winning one playoff series in the last 17 years. Really, they should just lose the “New York” in their name because they’re an embarrassment to this great city.

Instead, the Brooklyn Nets truly represent New York’s basketball greatness. Sure, the Nets have never won a title, but they exemplify grit and hard work far more than the Knicks.

Really, there is only one answer to the question of Who is New York’s true basketball team? It’s the Brooklyn Nets! Here’s why:

1. Barclays Center is a far better arena than Madison Square Garden

Have you ever visited the place? It’s got some great (obstructed) views and world class luxury for fans. Shared with the New York Islanders, Barclays Center boasts some state of the art in-arena technology and so many empty seats at games you can always move up closer to the action!

Then you have Madison Square Garden, it’s a total dump with high arching ceilings and banners that tell the history of sports in New York. History is old, people, and boring! Bigger and newer is always better, folks, and the Nets at Barclays is just that.

2. The Nets are young and exciting, the Knicks are old and stupid

The average age of the Brooklyn Nets? 25.7. The average age of the “New York” Knicks? 27.0. There you have it; younger is always better than older and the Knicks are soo old. Approximately 1.3 average years older.

You come to Brooklyn to watch some real, hard-fought basketball with young guys fighting for a roster spot. Sure, games might be blow outs, but the 16–59 Nets aren’t quitters. The Knicks are older with more talent, possibly, but how’s that “Super Team” optic working out for them, huh?

3. Brooklyn’s a much better managed franchise than “New York”

The Nets are a great organization with fantastic decision-making skills. On the other hand, the Knicks are terrible, taking some European loser in the draft in 2015 and they’ll probably botch the 2017 NBA Draft.

While the Knicks fail, the Nets use their picks for real assets. So what if we traded away multiple first round picks for Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett? Those guys were proven winners who played on our team for a solid one and one and one half seasons, respectively. Those games add up, to two playoff berths and one series win. Winning, like I said.

The Knicks’ management is terrible while the Nets with new GM Sean Marks and head coach Kenny Atkinson are on the verge of a dynasty in the making. Just wait for it.

There you have it. Brooklyn is New York’s REAL NBA franchise and the Knicks are total frauds. Deal with it.
