Well, there is not too much new we can write over here to summarize the year, so we promise we’ll be short. We stepped into 2020 thinking it would be a year just like any other, but boy were we in for a surprise. Who would’ve thought, back when we were writing our recap of 2019, that we would experience such drastic change in our lives, and in the lives of our fellow Koders…

All of us went through difficult times this year, especially due to lockdowns and layoffs. However, amidst all the prevailing angst, we witnessed something truly magical: many of you started playing around with Kodular and made apps for the first time in your lives. It was remarkable for us to watch all of you salvage the limited resources you had to use Kodular in creative and mind-bending ways and turn novel ideas into reality. From some of you who wanted to foray into programming to others who sought to upgrade your business by digitizing your presence, we at Kodular have been amazed to see the boundaries of our platform pushed every single day.

Over 32 centuries spent in Kodular apps. Enough time to watch the Titanic 8 million times.

So, to all of you, thank you from the Kodular team. It warms our heart to see you make apps that help humanity, like COVID-19 trackers, self-info resources, social work helpers, and even informative games. Your work inspires us to continue innovating at Kodular, so that we can keep pushing the limits and build a better world by granting everyone access to essential tools for digital literacy.

During this challenging year, more than 570,000 of you have created apps with us, adding to a total of 1,500,000 apps that are currently made with the platform. Hobbyists, freelancers, students, and educators like you have come together as Koders to accelerate change in the digital landscape of 2020. Perhaps that app you made is helping small businesses gain visibility, or the game you designed is educating students around the world about the pandemic and precautions. Whatever your app may be about, the 200,000 hours all of you have collectively put into making and perfecting your projects this year is mind boggling, and we are humbled by your efforts.

More than 4M apps were exported with over 21M components.

Providing a platform that powers billions of your ideas is challenging, to say the least, but our constant innovation and quality assurance has helped ensure your experience with Kodular is seamless and productive. Luckily for us, as we have always been working remotely, the pandemic did not dent our future plans as much as it may have affected other teams.
While there have been fewer major announcements this year compared to 2019, we have been working harder than ever to ensure our systems are running smoothly 24/7. Our services today are capable of generating 700 GB of apps every day, and we are proud of how far we have come since 2017.

11k new community discussions. That’s a LOT of activity.

Another major challenged faced by Koders was that of remote collaboration. How can one work on a team project without being able to communicate and ideate in person? We’re glad that many of you looked to our Kodular Community for the answer, as evidenced by record growth in the number of users and conversations in our forums. Through the year, you have collectively created over 110,000 posts in the Community. Be it helping your fellow Koders, asking and resolving doubts, or sharing something interesting you stumbled upon, we are impressed and grateful for your contributions and activity in our forum!

And as promised, we’ll keep this summary short, so you can get back to developing your next ground-breaking app. 2020 has been hard on all of us, and we’re thankful that you chose to take us and Kodular along with you on this wild ride. This year has been a rollercoaster for us too, but we have been secretly working on something huge that we hope all of you will appreciate. We cannot disclose much now, but we hope to keep you updated through 2021.

All that is missing now is to wish all of you a Happy New 2021 Year! Keep your head held high and keep going, for you are an amazing and valued part of our platform!

Happy Koding!
