We’re gearing up for the launch of our mobile application in London, Berlin and Munich but we do always like to keep looking ahead. Plans for a future launch in Paris are already in the pipeline so we’ve been busy navigating our way through the back alleys looking for more than just wine, baguettes and fromage! Have a look below at some of the absolute charmers we discovered.

La REcyclerie is located in a disused railway station and has adopted an eco-friendly lifestyle, growing their own vegetables in the outside space. This outside space is also available for people to come and enjoy a locally brewed beer next to the old rails. The food tastes fresh and the spiced beef wrap with plantain has us wanting to visit again.

83 boulevard Ornano, 75018 Paris

Midi 12 puts its unique touch on the classic crepe, creating a dining experience offering wine and crepe appetisers topped with smoked salmon. Also, whoever decided to combine raclette with crepes is an absolute genius! This marvelous creation, pictured below, is filled with plenty of cheese, potatoes and charcuterie and the crepe itself is made with the traditional flour which gives it that distinct dark colour.

12 Rue la Fayette 75009 Paris

Restaurant Ménélik is deceptively plain from the outside but bear with us as you’re in for a taste of delicious, authentic Ethiopian cuisine. There is plenty to choose from but we would recommend Beyayennatou, for an assortment of smaller dishes. These smaller dishes are served on a sourdough flatbread (Injera) and there’s no need to look for a knife and fork as Injera is also used as an eating utensil. So roll up your sleeves and dive in!

4 Rue Sauffroy, 75017 Paris

Pâtisserie Eugène is the supplier of pastries, tartlets and more for Parisian diabetics. Eugène uses at least 50% less sugar in its creations without sacrificing on taste. Moeulleux aux chocolat, eclairs and brownies can all be enjoyed with half the guilt.

11 Rue Guillaume Tell, 75017 Paris

If you fancy a little insight into true French home cooking, you have to pop into Zielle. With the cold winds picking up for the winter, there is nothing better than warming up with a hot chocolate in this cosy place. From pretty doyleys to knitted cushions, they take great care in the details of their sweet café, providing a welcoming setting to enjoy fresh baguette and jams in the morning or an oven-baked quiche for lunch.

63 rue Guy Moquet, 75017 Paris

That’s all for now folks but feel free to get in touch if you have some great tips to share about the city of Paris!
