If we accepted the idea of delineation as a solution for Kosovo, when Dobrica Cosic offered it for the first time, today we would be a member of the EU, President Aleksandar Vucic said this on Tuesday.

In his statement for RTS, the Serbian president said that Serbia at a time when (writer) Cosic and (late PM) Djindjic talked about that, had much more in Kosovo than it has today.

He thus responded to the RTS question on the occasion of the LDP reminding that Zoran Djindjic and Dobrica Cosic advocated the idea of delineation as a solution for Kosovo, and that he thinks he would fare better than then in the realization of this idea.

“We are not closer to the agreement with Pristina, because we are not negotiating with it,” Vucic also said today about Monday’s meeting with Anglela Merkel’s foreign policy advisers.

He pointed out that German officials had informed him that they had unequivocally asked Pristina to abolish the tariffs, but he pointed out, did not expect Pristina to do so.

“I expect that in April there will be some attempts and movements from the European Union to change things on the ground,” Vucic said. As he said, if you want to talk to someone, “you are not hammering things in, because it’s hard to get the nails out.”

Vucic said he spoke with German officials about relations between Belgrade and Pristina, the tariffs (on products from central Serbia) and platform (for negotiations with Belgrade) that Pristina adopted several days ago.

We won’t recognize Kosovo with its current borders

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic told Prva TV station on Tuesday that Serbia will not recognize Kosovo with its current borders.

“It is impossible … What is the alternative to negotiators? Do you want us to go to war? If we go to war, we will have to negotiate again,” he said.

Vucic said Belgrade cannot leave Serbs in Kosovo in the mercy of what he called an eventual attack. “I have said what we will do, and we are going to do that. If Pristina goes into action, we will respond … What do you think will happen if we don’t talk? There is no other solution,” he added.

Belgrade is manipulating Kosovo Serbs

Nenad Rasic, the leader of the Serb Progressive Democratic Party, said Belgrade is manipulating Serbs in Kosovo and that Serbian List political party was created by Belgrade to manipulate Kosovo Serbs.

“Belgrade has manipulated and is manipulating Serbs in Kosovo. This was obvious since the establishment of the Serbian List. At the beginning, I was skeptical that this political party would have as much power and will go to the extreme. Pristina, also at the beginning helped technically in establishing this party. The EU and internationals also helped in this process,” Rasic said.
